I was watching the BBC's "Child Of our Time" series earlier today, the one where they're studying things they thought the 25 2-year-old children might remember happening to them as babies. For example, one of the children could actually remember his experiences in the intensive care unit as a baby, wyen Dr. Synthea Mcvey took him up to an imitation Intensive Care unit to look at the equipment and the baby (Which was just a doll) in the incubater. He felt very comforted, very reassured and he didn't react badly in an environment that would usually terrify most other toddlers to death, because his mother went to extraordenary efforts to ensure he remained calm and happy in quite an unfriendly, frightening place for a child. Another little boy who'd also been in ITU as a baby, also seemed to know how some of the equipment worked. Some of the parents could even remember the things the team collected from their parents, attics. Things like clothes, shoes, perfumes and in one case, powdered egg and peppermint custard.
And now, for some of my earliest memories. I seem to be able to remember a lot more than most people, probably because these memories involve music, textures and food. My first extremely early memory is me sitting up in my cot in one of those fleece bodysuits with integral bootees and I was bending over and touching my feet in the bootees, I can remember being given my first tricycle by my dad when I was about 18 months old, I can remember running in to my grandparents living room and slamming the door because I didn't like the grandfather clock striking the hour, I remember being looked after by my mum's friend Auntie Angela and sitting in a highchair in her living/dining area, I remember going to playgroup and sitting next to one of the playgroup leaders in this quiet room while we sang Jingle Bells and she accompanied us on her guitar, I remember mum lifting me out of the car, still in my child seat and setting me down in our front porch while she got the shopping in. My two favourite memories though, are of two cassettes I had, Dame Vera Lynn and Kenneth Mckellar's Wonderful World of Nursery Rhymes and Wally Whyton's Children's choice, both of whic[h apostrophe r]e still available on Amazon. I'd fully recommend those to any of you who're parents with small children on The Zone. They'll never forget them, even when they're all grown up. So, I'm asking you guys now, what can you remember from when you were a very small child?

I remember accidently putting the tullet paper in the tullet in kindergarden. Man I knew that was not spelled right.

Very interesting topick.

My first memories are when my parrents took me to Israel and England so doctors could see my eyes and tell them if there was any solution. I think i was about 1 year old.
I can remember the aeroplane. Because my feed couldn't reach the end of the sit i remember it like sitting on a bedd than a sit. I also remember playing with the sitbelt.

I remember being in the hospital at age 2. I remember being afraid a nurse would get mad at me for messing in my diaper. I also remember screaming and pitching a fit when the doctors were trying to take me out of my mothers arms to put me on the cart and wheel me into the operating room.

I remember one particular doctor appointment. I must have been around two years old at the time. The doctor was looking in to my eyes and he had to shine a flashlight. My God, did that hurt. screaming bloody murder, I was

Good topic.

I think my first memory is of sitting in my great grandfather's lap and listening to old 78rpm records of his. I especially remember the smell of the old records. I must have been about two years old.

I also remember going to the doctor in the big city of San Antonio (we were hicks), and being really impressed with the elevator--a moving room, fantastic! I also remember him shining a light in my eyes and throwing a fit.

I remember the house I used to live in up until I was four years old and I remember the toys I used to play with.
